Many hands make light work! It takes many volunteers to make a manageable workload at a shelter with dozens of animals who need to be fed and cared for 365 days a year! This shelter could not exist without our animal-loving volunteers.
To welcome groups of interested volunteers, we have scheduled orientations to train volunteers in all things CVAS! Our next volunteer orientation will take place on October 12th at 11:00am at the Sanctuary. No appointment is necessary, but you can let us know you’re coming by filling out our Volunteer Application below.

Laundry & Dishes
Our number one volunteer need is people who can come in for a couple of hours between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Help our cleaners keep up with laundry and dishes! This work has to be done 7 days a week. It isn't glamorous, but seeing the animals in their freshly cleaned spaces feels great!
Fundraising & Outreach
Do you enjoy organizing events? We attend and host a ton of community events! Writing newsletter articles or taking animal photos? Getting information out to the community is what keeps us going! We need your help assisting staff and other volunteers with staying involved!
And so much more…
We need your help in every capacity! If you have the skill or want to develop the skill, we have the job for you! Take a look at our Volunteer Application below to learn more about what you can help with at CVAS.
