Our thanks go out to the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies:

In spring 2017, the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary (CVAS) received a $5,000 grant from The Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies (“The Federation”), to  fund spay/neuter surgeries of cats. Funds were used to trap, transport, and perform spay/neuter surgeries on 191 cats, many of them strays and feral cats. This number exceeded our target of 167 cats for the grant funds. These wonderful grants are paid for through We Love Our Pets license plates, check it out! You can read the full press release reporting successful completion of the grant here.

And the the Inland Northwest Community Foundation:

We were also awarded $15,000 in 2017 for capacity building from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation. This grant is partially funding the first shelter staff position ever in Stevens County (to our knowledge) that is dedicated to community outreach. We are very grateful to the Inland Northwest Community Foundation and continue to seek funds to build our capacity to fill the tremendous gap in humane society services in northeast Washington.
