THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME OUT TO PET-A-PALOOZA AT THE COUNTRY STORE!

CVAS had a great time Sept. 15 and 16 at the Country Store! Our thanks go out to everyone who filled out a donation pawprint to support the animal shelter, or stopped by the booth for a raffle ticket or grabbed a brochure or told us a story about your favorite dog or cat. If you couldn't make the event, remember you can always donate right here at the CVAS web site, and the 700+ animals we shelter every year could sure use it!

CVAS RECEIVES GRANTS!

Our thanks go out to the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies for a $5,000 grant for the spay/neuter of cats. Stevens County has a cat overpopulation problem, and this funding will help prevent more homeless and neglected cats. These wonderful grants are paid for through We Love Our Pets license plates, check it out!

We have also been awarded $15,000 for capacity building from the Inland Northwest Community Foundation. This grant is partially funding the first shelter staff position ever in Stevens County (to our knowledge) that is dedicated to community outreach and education. We are very grateful to the Inland Northwest Community Foundation and continue to seek funds to build our capacity to fill the tremendous gap in humane society services in northeast Washington.
